The Sketch

First things first, I sketch out the painting and make notes right on the sketch.

Phase 1

After preparing the ground and letting it almost dry, I outlined the flow of the painting by starting from the back, in this case the darker leaves that you will see through the flowers.
Note: I never used any black in the ground just blue and red. This allows the green to appear if you use just yellow.

Phase 2

Outlining is the next step, putting color in the highlighted areas first and then feathering that color into the darker areas.

Phase 3

Blending the colors, while keeping in mind the shadowed areas and highlighted areas. I think the term is called toning...

The Final look

Adding the smallest amount of detail in the most necessary places.
